Il-Mithna
Il-Mithna (58 Main Street (Triq Il-Kbira), Mellieha) – this restaurant (a 30 minute drive west of Valletta, and a much shorter distance west of St. Paul’s Bay) is also located within a historic building – this time, in a 17th century stone windmill built by the Knights of Malta (“Mithna” being the Maltese word for “mill”). Dishes served here include braised chicken with sweet pepper and fresh tomatoes, seared beef strips in a mushroom (with red wine sauce), and baked local fish (in white wine and fresh herbs).
