Dragonara Casino (Dragonara Palace, St. Julian’s) – located just 18 minutes northwest of Valletta, this casino is in a magnificent 19th-century seaboard summer palace, built by the Marquis Scicluna, with a surrounding colonnaded veranda that abuts directly onto the sea. It kept many of the original architectural and interior design features, which have been adapted to the requirements of casino patrons — combining luxury, glamour and excitement, with a beautiful bar and a highly rated restaurant. The Dragonara Palace was first converted for use as a casino in 1964. In 2010, the casino embarked on an extensive refurbishment program, with a fresh design and state of the art gaming equipment.
The casino has over 300 slot machines, including those made by Novomatic. There is a spacious non-smoking area with a wide range of 18 live table games: American roulette, blackjack, punto banco, three card poker and Texas Hold’em poker. Those guests who prefer to play these games on individual terminals have a combined Novo Multi-Roulette and Novo Flying Blackjack installation with two wheels and 28 terminals.
